Kids In Bluegrass Club is a Eastern Canada Non-Profit Organization interested in Education of the heritage of bluegrass music and the instruction of how to play bluegrass music to a younger generation which acknowledges our Kids on Bluegrass.
Chantal O'Neil founder and President of "Kids in Bluegrass"put together a youth concert of young pickers at a festival in 2013 because her daugther Codie O'Neil wanted to play mandolin on the main stage. The kids were a huge success and this is how "Kids in Bluegrass Club" began.
Chantal now meets with the kids through out the year to help them prepare for "Kids in Bluegrass" youth concerts in the Maritimes. The performers (4 - 19 years old) have band practices/lessons and learn self discipline and work hard through out the year but the reward for the kids (and parents) is huge.
If you would like to play on the main stage and join "Kids in Bluegrass" Place your application in early.
"Kids in Bluegrass" will be performing on the main stage at Four Bluegrass festivals this year.
Approximately 1,500 Bluegrass, Acoustic, Folk, Old-time and Country Music fans and musicians from the local area, across the province, Eastern Canada and the US attend.
The performers meet with Chantal at the Festival Friday and by Saturday and learn the various aspects and techniques of becoming a band. They will have an hour set put together and ready to perform on stage in front of a live audience. Kids in Bluegrass Club has nortured some top-notch youth pickers who formed into award winning bluegrass bands and musician. This includes a recording, award nominations ,performances at the Eastern Canadian Bluegrass Music Awards and across Eastern Canada and the US. (kids playing bluegrass)
